Yup: the day is long and it’s still devoted to Chad Harbach’s novel, out today. Here is an excerpt from an episode of the N+1 podcast where Liz Haynes talks to the author about baseball, zen, a book within the book that gave the title to the novel and male friendship. It is still Chad Harbach Day and yes, you have to endure even more posts on L’arte di vivere in difesa. This is the cover of a long feature that appeared on the October 2011 Issue of Vanity Fair. In it Keith Gessen, writer and one of Chad’s closest friends, tells the story of the novel while also giving a behind-the-scenes look at the world of publishing, from agents to publishers to digital publishing. It is a great read and it is also available in an extended edition as an ebook here.
