News regarding J K Rowling’s new novel has just come in via the Bookseller. It will be titled THE CASUAL VACANCY and will be published worldwide on 27th September.
It will be set in the fictional English village of Pagford after parish council member Barry Fairweather dies unexpectedly. Pagford is seemingly an English idyll, with a cobbled market square and an ancient abbey, but what lies behind the pretty façade is a town at war and all is not as it seems. The empty seat left by Barry on the parish council soon becomes the catalyst for the biggest war the town has yet seen. Who will triumph in an election fraught with passion, duplicity and unexpected revelations? We are told that it will be blackly comic and thought provoking.
