Artist: Mark HearldMark Hearld was born in York in 1974. He studied illustration at Glasgow College of Art and then completed a Natural History Illustration MA at the Royal College of Art. He works across a number of mediums, producing limited edition lithographic and linocut prints, unique paintings, collages and hand-painted ceramics.

A year ago we published 19 Penguin Essentials – seminal books with new, contemporary covers to remind us why we loved them when they were first published and ever since. At the beginning of April we are publishing another 11 Essentials to round out at an even 30 titles. To celebrate we’re going to countdown with a beautiful cover a day - today’s is Evelyn Waugh’s Brideshead Revisited.
Artist: Jim TierneyJim Tierney grew up in Pennsylvania and studied illustration at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. After graduating in 2010 he moved to New York to work as a book cover designer for Penguin US, and in 2011 was chosen as one of Print magazine’s ‘Top 20 under 30’ designers. He currently lives in Brooklyn.
